How do I upload my product feed file?

Shopping.com offers two ways for a merchant to upload a product feed file. The One-Time Manual Upload from your desktop and the Automatic Feed File Upload.

Note: The below instructions are for first time users, if you would like to switch between using the one time upload to FTP (or vice versa) follow steps 1 through 3 from below and select "switch update methods".

One-Time Manual Feed File Upload
Benefits:  Upload all your products at once using a product feed file, and save your inventory locally.  Will only be over-written upon uploading a new file at your convenience.  Your products will appear on Shopping.com within 24-72 hours.
Best for merchants with: More than 10 products but less than 1000. It also may benefit merchants who make frequent updates to their inventory multiple times a day.
Requirements: A product feed file with at least 2 or more products

In the Merchant Account Center
1. Go to the "Product" tab 
2. Click on the "Submit Data-feed" sub-tab
3. Navigate to step #5 and select the "Upload file from my desktop"
4, Click the browse button
5. Find the file on your computer and click "Continue" to configure
6. Review your feed file column conversions by matching your column headers to the Shopping.com columns
7. When finished, click the continue button to save your changes

Automatic Feed File Upload
Benefits:  You can save your large inventory files in our secure FTP location, so they do not take up excessive storage space on your infrastructure. When using this method anytime there are changes to the file our system will automatically process and reflect the changes on our site.
Best for merchants with:  More than 1000 products
Requirements: Your site has all product information needed by Shopping.com (product name, product description, price, etc) in a constant uniform location on each product page

If you decide upload your file using the FTP location that is provided by Shopping.com, please continue below. If you choose to specify your own FTP or HTTP location, please skip this set of instructions and move to the "Your own FTP/HTTP" section.

Here are directions to receive your FTP login and password information.
1. Log into the Merchant Account Center
2. Click on the "Product" tab
3. Click on "Add or Update Products" link
4. Go to step #5, and choose "Upload to a Shopping.com FTP location"
5. Copy the "Shopping.com FTP" link (leave this browser open)
6. In a new web browser, open up your FTP location and then drag your feed file to the FTP site.

You will then need to link your feed from the FTP site to the Merchant Account Center.  To do this follow the below steps:

8. Log into the Merchant Account Center
9. Click on the "Products" tab
10. Navigate to "Add or Update Products" link
11. Go to step #5 once again and enter your feed file name in the space provided exactly as it appears within the FTP location.  Example: 123456.xls or 123456.csv
12. When finished, press the orange Almost there! Map datafeed columns
13. Review your feed file column conversions by matching your column headers to our Shopping.com columns
14. When finished, press the continue button to save your changes
Your uploaded feed file should be processed within 24 hours if the above steps were done before 8 PM Pacific Time.

Your own FTP/HTTP location
If you choose to specify your own FTP or HTTP location and after you have placed your feed file in the location, you will need to link your feed to the Merchant Account Center, here's how you do that :

1. Log into the Merchant Account Center
2. Click on the "Product" tab
3. Click on the "Submit Datafeed" sub-tab
4. Enter the appropriate information in steps #1-4
5. In step #5, Fill in the internet address including file name of your feed file to ensure our system is selecting the correct file in the FTP location.
The feed address should follow the format: ftp://ftp.shopping.com/filename.csv (Remember to include the file's 3 character extension as well)
6. Enter the username and password for this FTP location, if none leave blank
7. When finished, press the orange continue button
8. Review your feed file column conversions by matching your column headers to the Shopping.com columns
9. When finished, press the continue button to save your changes

Your uploaded feed file should be processed within 24 hours if the above steps were done before 8 PM Pacific Time.  The general times at which feeds are processed starts at around 6 AM PST, 12PM PST and 6PM PST.
